CFA Mission

Through the art of Canadian fiddle music, we motivate, educate, and inspire children to develop musically and socially.

Introduction: In the heart of Alberta, Canada, amidst the vibrant city of Calgary, thrives a group of young musical artists who have captured the hearts of audiences through their energetic and polished performances. The Calgary Fiddlers are an ensemble of talented youths who have carved a niche in the realm of folk music, exciting audiences of all ages across the globe with their electrifying arrangements and infectious energy.

Formation and Training: The Calgary Fiddlers are not just performers; they are a testament to the dedication and passion for their craft. Each member undergoes a rigorous training regimen encompassing individual and group coaching sessions every week, on top of hours of personal practice. Their commitment to excellence and mastery of their music, choreography, and storytelling exceeds a mere concert and transcends into theatrical presentation. Variety is also at the heart of The Calgary Fiddlers performances. From traditional folk fiddling to the foot-stomping rhythms of country, bluegrass, Celtic, and even the grandeur of big band music, this unique ensemble escapes boundaries, leading to a wide range of audience appeal.

Notable Performances: From local functions to international stages, the Calgary Fiddlers have left an indelible mark wherever they go. This extraordinary ensemble has performed for dignitaries at home and abroad, as well as celebrities and iconic media programs such as the opening of the "Live with Kelly," show filmed in the picturesque town of Banff, Alberta.

International Recognition: In 2022, the Calgary Fiddlers were invited to showcase their talent at the UNESCO City of Art and Music Festival in Liria, Spain. Their performance resonated deeply with the Spanish public, earning them accolades and standing ovations. Over the coming year, The Calgary Fiddlers will be traveling to perform at the Strawberry Festival in West Virginia this May, and they eagerly anticipate embarking on a concert tour in Peru during the summer of 2025.

Community Engagement: Despite their international acclaim, the Calgary Fiddlers remain deeply rooted in their community. They take pride in spreading joy to the hearts of seniors, performing at over 60 limited mobility senior facilities each year with their 'Celebrate Canada' program. Through their music, they weave a tapestry of nostalgia where residents can relive the music of their youth, and share in some musical therapy that fosters a sense of unity and belonging among generations.

Conclusion: The Calgary Fiddlers are not merely musicians; they are storytellers, weaving tales through the strings of their fiddles. The journey of their stage show is a testament to the transformative power of music, and as they continue to enchant audiences far and wide, their melody of joy echoes for generations to come.
